Advertise with The Backhaul

The Backhaul is a new freight and logistics publication written by Ted Fyock, a working broker,, founder of Carolina Expressways Inc. Every Tuesday, it goes out to freight operators, shippers, carriers, 3PLs, and the people building and investing in the industry.

If that's the audience you want in front of, there are a few ways to work with us.

Who we reach

The readers we're building toward are brokers working for margin, carriers running their own P&L, shippers who negotiate real freight spend, 3PL managers, founders building in or adjacent to freight, and investors and analysts tracking the space. We're honest about the fact that this publication is early. If you want to be one of the first sponsors in the room, that's the trade: earlier audience, earlier pricing, and more attention per reader than you'll get once the list scales.

Placements

Primary Sponsor. Top-of-issue placement with a short native message. One per week. This is where the eyes go.

Classifieds. Short listings inside the issue. Good for hiring, equipment, service offers, events, and anything with a deadline.

Custom Content. A sponsored piece written with the editorial team. Your thinking, in the voice readers are already reading. We don't run anything we wouldn't read ourselves.

Product Reviews. For freight-tech and SaaS. We test it, we write what we actually think, and your product gets in front of operators evaluating their stack. If the review is going to be unkind, we'll tell you before it runs.

Annual Partner Program. Multi-issue commitment with priority placement, co-marketed content, and first look at new inventory.

How we think about it

We cap sponsors per issue. Your message isn't fighting ten others for attention. The voice stays editorial, which is why readers open in the first place. If the sponsorship doesn't fit the reader, we'll say no, even if the check is good.

Who we're a fit for

Freight-tech and SaaS (TMS, visibility, load boards, fleet management). Factoring, insurance, financing. Equipment, parts, compliance, legal. 3PLs, brokerages, and asset-based carriers with a story worth telling. Associations, conferences, and industry events.

If your product, service, or event helps freight operators do their job better, we want to talk.
